Weeknote 171

Back after a pause week‑noting, having overcome a difficult period with still some challenges ahead

  • Still waiting for a buyer for my apartment. In the end I decided to terminate my instruction with the high fixed‑fee estate agent since they couldn’t find me a proceedable buyer. Their overall attitude and vibe just weren’t where I expected.
  • Now about to relaunch with another estate agent who has at least sold a couple of apartments in the same complex in the past six months. The prices are still low but more reasonable, and they work on a percentage‑based fee.
  • The heatwave has finally ended here in the UK, albeit with little rain so far. Enjoyed a couple of cycle rides in the Surrey countryside over the past couple of weekends without having to endure 30‑plus degrees of heat. Still being generous with applying sun protection cream however!
  • Had my third volunteering request from AbilityNet last week, this time from an elderly lady in Wimbledon needing help to use her Android phone to attach photos to an email. Further confirmation, if it was even needed, that people of all ages rely entirely on a phone, and nothing like a laptop, to do all tasks requiring internet access.
  • Caught up with the Women’s Tour of Britain on ITV4 last week. Some short‑ish routes, but very scenic, mostly in the north and Wales this year.

Algo en español 🇪🇸

  • La Vuelta a España también ha vuelto a la televisión. Vi las dos primeras etapas en Mónaco y Francia1. . ¿Ganará Tadej Pogačar? Es muy posible. Es su primer intento en la Vuelta.
