Weeknote 163
- Easter Monday I spent the day with Bagheera the cat relaxing after a busy weekend of visiting places. She's taken a liking to a specific cushion which I momentarily placed on its base and ever since claimed it as her favourite sleeping spot on the sofa.
- Tuesday night I really didn't sleep well with Trump's threat that a whole civilization would die if his demands weren't met. Week by week, as bombings continue across Iran, Lebanon, and beyond in Ukraine too, our hopes of any kind of economic recovery slip further away, it’s taking a real mental toll on me, and I’m sure on many others.
- I finally got back on my road bike following several months off, for a mid-week evening ride round Richmond Park. Missing my cycling friend Luis who moved farther out and started a new full-time job to keep up with the ever‑rising cost of living
- Streaming high‑definition French TV through my VPN for Paris–Roubaix this year. It's a taster of July, when it’ll be my only non‑subscription way to watch the Tour de France in the UK. Plus a good excuse to learn more French. Bringing back memories from last July when I destroyed my shoe cleats trying to walk on the cobblestone roads of northern France for a good viewing spot.
