Weeknote 154

Games with the cat

  • Back at work, tying up some loose ends from when I left. Feeling down that my Canadian colleague has handed in his resignation — we’ve become good friends, and it’s likely he’ll be heading back to Canada come Spring time.
  • Bagheera the cat has been enjoying my company back home. Playtime takes nothing more than an old bit of string I had lying around, and she’ll happily chase it through the apartment, jump up high and pounce on it almost endlessly.
  • The hospital has finally given me a date next month for my hernia operation after a year since my CT scan. Somewhat anxious about it, but hopefully shouldn't be too invasive and trust the surgeons know what they're doing.
  • Enjoying homemade Pastel de Choclo served in the new dark clay bowls I bought whilst in Chile.
  • Saddened to see news of two train crashes in Spain within the same week.
  • Hit a dead end trying to fix part of my website which captures check-ins from Swarm by Foursquare. Giving up for a while until I have the mental energy to solve it without falling back on AI generated code slop.
